Well, it sounded real good for a moment. Thanks for the research on why you already have the pins. That's good intel. So... I'm back to the idea of using the trailer wiring harness connector through a hole in the receiver. You may be faced with the same thing. Just open the case of the CDX, solder onto the connectors on the inside of the factory female connector, and dangle it outside the case to make a new connector.
Do you already have the CDX player? My wrecker was kind enough to cut the wire harness connector off with a few inches of wire, recognizing that I would need it to complete the install. It meant nothing to him, and was probably easier than unhooking it. If you are still in process of getting the CDX, ask for the pigtail to be included. They should accommodate you, since there isn't any independent sale opportunity for the part.
Best wishes with your install.

I don't have the CDX yet. Haven't decided whether I'm going to buy a used or new one. I haven't tried junkyards for anything yet.

I put in a request on one of those partsfinder websites. I got back a half dozen replies. I posted one yard that has the CDX and related parts for sale earlier in this forum. It was a good price and included the pigtail. You might want to contact them as I imagine it is still available. I suggest getting a used one, as you also need the trunk side trim panel. It is specific to the CDX player. There are also brackets you need, and if you can arrange it, ask the yard to save the bolts and studs.

I'll try to find that posting, unless you can supply me with a quick link.
I just ordered the trim panel, bolt and stud from one of the online parts sites. It was only about $35. I can get the bracket from them as well if necessary for about $10, and if I want a new CDX I can get one for $285.
In addition, my cousin works for GM and does a lot with a radio shop that I can get one from. I'm waiting for pricing on that. His viewpoint is that if I'm going to pay $100 or more for a 5+ year old CDX that I don't know anything about, it may be better to pay a couple hundred bucks more for a new one. I agree with him to some degree, that's why I haven't made the decision on which way I'm going to go on the actual player. Right now I'm focusing on the parts that are harder to obtain.

This is the yard that had a CDX player for sale It's been a while, but I don't imagine these are fast movers:

Thanks, but yeah, if I'm going to pay $135 for an 8-year old used changer that's been sitting in a junkyard, I'll throw the extra $150 in for a new one.

I found out that the connector for the CDX is available at online parts sites, but it is expensive. The part number for it is 12085486. It's also listed at some sites as part number PT108. It's over $50 w/shipping.

I checked out the connector you mentioned. I have an OEM pigtail on the CDX I purchased and the connector shown in the pictures as PT108 is not the same.
I also noted that different sites described the PT108 as a radio connector, while other sites listed it as a blower motor connector. Whatever it's for, it's definitely not the CDX.
The only way I think you will get a stock connector that fits is to clip it off a harness. This is going to be harder than finding the proverbial needle in a haystack.
The alternative is walking away from the OE connector completely, and replacing it with an aftermarket male/female connector that you would solder into the CDX in place of the stock connector.

That's odd Keith, the site where I saw the connector pictured showed the same connector that ddalder showed in his picture on page 1 of this thread. Check out the part at rockauto.com. Do a part number search with either the number I gave you or the PT108 number. The result includes a picture. Looks the same to me. I guess I won't know until I get the CDX (already ordered the connector) if I got the right connector or not.

Pete, get a new CDX. I just had to dismantle mine to get the freaking magazine out so I could at least listen to my CD's through the HU. It's always something on this car....

I'm trying.

GMPD just informed me they can't get it, even though they list it on their site. They say it's a 'National Control part from GM' and I can only get it from a dealer. So why do they list it on their site, and at a discounted price!? Anyway, I have my cousin (who works for GM) checking out one of his sources. I just wish he'd get back to me already.

Got the CDX and cartridge, just waiting for the bracket and connector, which I should get this week, and I'll be ready to make up the trunk harness and get it all installed.

Keith, I got the connector and final pieces today, including the bracket. The connector is the right one and even has pigtails. It should for what I paid for it.

The pigtails are all the same color, gray, but that's no biggie since I have the pinouts. The package also contained splice connectors for the pigtails. The package was an ACDelco one, and had both the GM numeric part number that I gave you and also the PT108 number. Anyway, just wanted to let you know I got the right one, so I'm ready to roll on the project. I'll try and do a write-up with pictures as I go, keeping in mind that this install is only for those that already have XM but no CDX. I should probably do my write-up separate from this thread so as not to confuse others with a mixture of Darcy's install and mine. More to come.
