I bought it for $1600, and I plan to put less than $400 into it... Plan on selling it for $3000-3500.... A 1-1.5k profit.

*dang*, I wish I had the room to do something like that!
My uncle has done it for years, and has turned some *dang* good profit doing so.
Nissan Multi Wagon for 70 bucks, put 350 into it, sold it for 2g..that kinda thing.

you should totally empty the shop vac then weigh it and vaccum all the dirt off then weigh the shop vac again to see how much dirt you vacuumed out.

Most of that dirt will be wiped out with a wet cloth. You will just have to imagine the dirt pile :P

the room is starting to get a bit crowded...lol

Did you use a steam cleaner? The marks look like either a steam cleaner or a really strong vacuum cleaner.

I cleaned the carpets with the self-serve car wash. Took about $4 to get them like that. I used a small brush to work the carpet.

The marks I made with the brush strictly for the picture

Doing this reminds me so much of when I did my car....
harofreak00 wrote:this is sunday afternoons project... ripped out the carpet to have it look like this..

ya, its bad

Image

i can now see why GM wants almost $200 per section of this stuff, its pretty complex with all the padding and such

Image

i found some new water problems i was unaware of before, check out how wet the padding is
Image

i knew the rear piece is going to be replaced since some of the carpet is actually missing from some acid, so i am only working on the front...

i worked on it in my driveway for a while, had some laundry detergent soaking on it for a while, notice how the carpet holds all water...it soaked for almost 30 min
Image

after that i took it to the carwash to powerwash it, with some help from the van ;)
Image

here the carpet hangs to dry, i think it turned out pretty good for its first cleaning, i can always keep doing it
