Shouldn't need the car running to bleed. I've never done it that way...

I've never had a car running to bleed brakes either. Wonder if someone knows something I don't, about bleed brakes that is. - BC

I suppose it'd make your leg less tired with power brakes, but that's about the only benefit...

Well I had to climb under my car up on 1 stand to try to find an exhaust rattle that would disappear after the car ran a minute. It was a very uncomfortable feeling, wouldn't do it again.

I am looking to order the cross drilled/slotted Centrix rotors from Rock Auto tonight. I could use the rock auto promotional code? As far as pads I guess Im going with ceramics. I was looking to see if anybody has good ceramic experiences or concerns...

I went with the Centric premium rotors (not slotted or drilled). Very pleased with these, painted hats look nice, no rust. Had these on since March 2014.

I went with the Centric Posi- Quiet ceramic pads. Very positive, quiet braking, no noise, just a little bit of brake dust. Since you are going with drilled and slotted rotors, these will remove more pad material during braking. The Centric pads I have are excellent for braking, but they will probably result in more brake dust with your set up. Get some comments from persons that have rotors like yours if you are concerned about brake dust.

This was the first time that I put on ceramic pads and they are superior to semi-metallic pads. I am most impressed with how quiet the brakes on the Bonny (2002 sle) are now. Centric makes quality parts. I think that Centric may have a performance brake pad that may be good for your ssei. Anyway, everthing from Centric fit like OE parts.

Good luck with the brake job.

Thx Steven. I liked the Centric D/S too, It just wasn't available for my arrangement. I went and bought them froma StreetSideAuto.. I got really tired of chasing the big deal and that's what I came up with, What can I do about the ceramic pads for $50? Oreilly has a $42 set.

Steven I have heard that the Ceramics are what I want. I started looking at RockAuto and I can get Centrics-front-Ceramics ranging from $15 to $45. I dont remember the different model names but Centric is good a choice, yeah?

I say go for the AC Delco Professionals, it's good stuff. Anything else that claims "performance" is snake oil.

I ordered mine from RockAuto and they are fantastic !

I got my Power Stop D/S Rotors today. I had to have a shouting match w/Fed Ex. I have had too much heat and never did much like being nice to aggravating delivery guys.

Still need pads

He walked up the step, got 1 look and shoved them right in my face. I ask him why he did that and he smarts off and we just traded a lot of hate, honestly. It was not a good thing to be doing. :btruestory:

I just got back from a fishing trip in Maine!!!!

It was great!!

Centric parts are great. I was very pleased with the quality of all the brake parts from Centric.
I went with Centric Posi-Quiet ceramic pads, and Centric Premium Rotors, not slotted or drilled.
Very pleased with the brakes on the Bonny.

Since you are going with drilled/slotted rotors, you may get more brake dust since that type or rotor will remove more pad material while braking. Since I used non slotted/drilled rotors, I can not say how well my pads would work with slotted/drilled rotors.

With all that said, I will buy Certric parts again when the time comes.

Good Luck,

Steven
