I clay windows when I detail cars. Works nice. Clay them just like your paint, but they'll probably end up streaky so you'll have to clean them again after.

Yeah, I'm not 100% sure how he did it but the window was crystal clear and the rain basically hit the window and bounced away. Pretty awesome if you ask me.

One of my friends worked at an Auto Detailer shop around by me, and he showed me the idea of taking a clay bar and rubbing it in to your windshield, or any window if you want, and then I believe you take a buffer or microfiber and polish it in. I can't remember how to do it in detail, all I know is in a pretty good down pour the rain would just bounce off the window and fly away. Impressed me a lot by how good it does. Never used wipers once on that ride home, and it was like a 30 mile patch of hard rain.
Rain-X does exactly this, though I prefer Aquapel since it lasts longer and is just as effective. Don't forget the side and rear windows!

so it seems as if the Bosch Icon wipers are the way to go. They're about $35 with discount and shipping from Rock Auto.
I looked around for BOGO but Autozone only had "BOGO 50%" Off the Bosch Evolution wipers.
I've had previous experience with the Rain-X Latitudes on past vehicles, as well as on all of my family's other vehicles currently. they tend to peel, streak, and not last that long.
I was doing Rain-X treatment on my windshield and side windows, but never seemed to get last longer than a week of decent rainy weather.
my dad just got the windshield replaced on our Trailblazer today, since something the size of a lugnut put a monstrous chip/ crack in to it. the place that did applied the Aquapel that repinS had just mentioned for free. will have to see how it works if it's as good as told, Ill have to pick some up and try it out.

No, I got Rain-x on my windshield and this doesn't compare to the clay bar. It seems like if I am not moving, water will just bead up but won't drop. With the clay, the water would bead and drop or if you were moving it would hit and bounce away. Technically speaking, Rain-x is essentially just ethanol and rubbing alcohol. After a while those chemicals will wear off, but clay in a way "fills in the microscopic cracks" and would stay there for a pretty long time.

I just got my dad some Bosch Micro-Edge blades for his truck. We'll see how good they hold up for $13.99 a piece. Chances are probably not a whole long time, but if they go more than 6 months I am definitely tossing my Rain-x blades for some Bosch Icon's or Evolution's.

I have these floppy Good Year things. lol They're *dang* good though. But I do love Rain X. I always try to keep a coat on all my windows and outside mirrors.

Good windshield treatment = what's a wiper blade?

Rain-X is applying chemicals to your windshield which will eventually wear off, but a clay will actually remove the contaminants and particles from your windshield (and paint) that make water and whatnots collect on it.

You guys think about wiper blades too much lol.

I put on about 25-30K a year, I go through 2 sets a year. I go beam style, no matter the brand. When they start streaking I let them go another month then replace. Like I said, use the washer fluids that have the water repel in them. After awhile you wont need to use the wiper blades.

Sun also beats the crap out of the rubber on blades, so think about that when you park your car in the 80*+ summer season.
