You would be VERY suprised at how the 6L80 performs (Nice complimentary 2nd's and sometimes a 3rd) -- probably one of GM's best transmissions thus far in terms of its clutch to clutch operation, smoothness, and a 32 bit electro-hydraulic controller .. and still gets good fuel economy. It *could* stand to be a bit firmer which can be dealt with after I get 15-20k miles on it and get it tuned -- and the manual gear selection needs to be a tad quicker (at least on the silver one I test drove -- I was all over the 6700 RPM rev limiter manually shifting..)

But -- considering if I still get that urge to cuss a clutch in traffic ;-) I'll take the TA for a spin...

Great cars. I was always afraid of the STS-V Awesome cars and Awesome motors. It is just that I am always afraid of the day I need to do any work to a north star motor.

They're nicer than the old 4 speeds yes, but... I think i'll keep my 6 speed with two clutches... :wink: Still is a great car though.
