It's not like they're all gonna disappear, and parts are going to dry up.

I respectfully disagree. It's happening already.

Sell it and buy a newer high volume safe efficient car.

Never thought I'd ever say that but this last year has taught me much about GM and Pontiac. :angry7:

Maybe where you live, but here in the midwest, there are tons of Bonnevilles, and thus tons of Bonneville parts.

Exactly. There will be no shortage of parts for these cars any time soon, no reason to get rid of it.

Paul, I'm not referring to things like trunk lid rods, etc. They were going to dry up no matter what, the Bonneville hasn't been made for over 4 years. I'm referring to oil filters, tires, air filters, spark plugs, wires, general maintenance items. Plus, your area is a bad one to compare, as all parts have to be imported, and it wasn't a common car in your area. Where I live if I don't see another Bonneville on the road in a day it's a shocking thing.

This isn't the first time you've said this, but i think you're misplacing anger here. Finding parts for an H body is about as easy as it gets in the Automotive world.

Big +1. Every junk yard I've ever been in I was tripping over all the H Bodies.

This thread is really going nowhere, and it is really driving me crazy. So as I said before:

Well maybe you need to get out more my friend. :booty:
Try finding an EGR valve for a 94 SSEi.
You proved my point. Sure you can buy oil filters and spark plugs but when you have a failure of a part that is critcal to runnability or emissions, good luck!

GM was and still is in trouble. They have made changes in how they stock parts. We feel it more in Canada but it won't be too long before you guys down south feel it too.

And it won't be the last. Your experience with finding parts will change next year....oh I forgot, you drive a German car now!

GM's stocking of parts doesn't affect us nearly as much when we have a huge supply of locally avaiable used parts. Not to mention aftermarket.

Two seconds on Rock Auto. They have AC Delco in stock, shipped to my door for about $200 CAD taxes in. I'm sure the dealer would be priced similarly.

I had an EGR go bad a few months ago - and you and I share the same valve for 94/95 - a quick trip to the scrapyard netted a good one, plus another two or three that I'm going to keep as spares. The market anywhere other than the local shops in the west coast of Canada isn't going to disappear any time soon.

I told my father about all the facts of how the parts are still going to be produced for a certain amount of time (to 2015. Thank you 00Beast for that.) and it changed his mind. But he read the posts on this topic and he said we'll keep it. Thank you all (those who supported the argument) for helping!
