Well, this was quite the interesting cone hit... smack dab perpendicular with the middle of the passenger rear door.

No actual off-course though!

TOTALLY off topic, but I know Wes Tanney (the photographer) he was the CAD/CAM tech admin at Sheridan college when I was there.

Jerry, is he still there?

I haven't been in this thread since early on in the pages. Wow! Glad I stopped back in! Peter, you just may have single-handedly turned the collective opinions of this club in favor of the G8 with your fine car, pics, and they perfect condition you keep it in.

It is a veeerrry nice car and certainly a candidate for our next car, when ever that time comes about. :hail:

Yep, he totally is still there. He's a pretty skilled driver too, consistently one of the fastest times of the day with an 08 Civic Si coupe (the 197hp ones).

Much nicer wheel. I like the thicker wheel.

Was that a GM part? What was the number? How much?

Very interesting steering wheel. Is that aluminum? On the G8 forums, is that a popular thing? Perhaps some Australian guys want the G8 wheels? :)

It must add 40 horsepower or so.

I got it off Ebay.com.au its a genuine GM Holden wheel, but I don't have a P#

yes the skeleton of the wheel is aluminum, and a very dense foam/rubber and the wheels on the G8 are just the same old standard wheels down there.. they wouldn't be interested.

there are a few people on the G8 forums that have done a wheels swap, but I beleive I'm the ONLY one thats done the HSV GTS wheel.

A good steering wheel goes a long way! The GTI has a larger flat spot than that, and flat corners down low as well. The "scallops" for thumbs are larger too, but pretty similar. I LOVE it, especially with the paddles, It forces me to hold the wheel right almost. AutoX'ers and people @ Car's n' Coffee are surprised to see it's stock.

Perfect upgrade! Now do what I did, and put a boost gauge on the column behind it..

Kinda hard to put a boost gage on a car that doesn't generate any boost #-o

Nice addition Peter, hopefully the weather will hold out on Sunday and I can check it out!

Ya that would be the next perfect upgrade.......a turbo kit.

Peter, that is one sweet ride you are transforming your G8 into. :2thumbup:

It needs a ram air headlight though. :poke:

BTW did you others notice that the G8's front vent swings away as part of the door panel.

Honestly?
I hate things that are too thick, they're hard to grab a hold of.

My tahoe has a nice skiny one.

The difference between the 92-99 and 00 size steering wheel is amazing... I can image how good that new wheel feels.
