Buy cheap, fix problems, resell? (aka, the truth) Or do you make up an interesting story, just because you can?
The gotta tell the truth because the date on the title doesn't lie. However, how much I tell them kinda depends on the vibe I'm getting from them. This guy I told everything 100% truth, only because he sounded interested in all the stuff that was replaced. I told him I bought it a month ago, put a new engine in it, replaced a bunch of stuff, and selling it for a profit.
He already called back... said he talked to his lender and was approved for $5500. He's gonna run it by the wife tonight (she already saw the pics), and then call me again. He tried to work some sort of deal with me, saying that if anything goes wrong that he provides the parts and I do the labor... but I wasn't about to do that. I told him the same thing I tell anyone else that wants me to do work for them. Half price of the dealer and I'll do just about anything.

Nice flip, Were the '03's wheels in better shape than the 5 spokes you had been running on the '00, or was it a pure tire decision?

Paul, you are always dragging those kind of comments around this board. Most people buy cars to drive them. When you only put 1000 miles on a year, you are not getting a bang for your buck at all. GM's used car values are no different than Ford or Dodge. Check out this
03 Mercedes.

You are the only one on the forum that I know of that did.
That Benz retailed for under $30k in '03.... So you're proving the opposite then.. It was worth less originally, now worth more than a similar year/mile H body..

Basically the exact same condition. No curb rash, just very fine scratches on both. I did lose the hidden wheel weights though.

Well nevermind then!

Not really an easy way to determine on this one, considering I bought a complete car for the engine, plus used a ton of my own inventory.
If we were to say I got the engine for $500, and spent another $300 on my own inventory, probably around $3200 profit

Well its gone. I dropped it off this afternoon. Pulled up to the guys house, and he hands me the cash. Didn't even want to take it for another test drive. He did ask to see how the cd changer works though, lol.
