GXP calipers ready, now what?

Post by alexcoqui »

I got all 4 calipers from Morad, & lets say that they wernt mint condition. [-(

But now they are, & before I can install them, I need to ask a couple of questions here.

The braket bolts wernt included & if I go to GM would they sell them individually? Does anyone know part # for these?

another question I have is about the brake lines. would the stock ones fit or do I have to buy the stainless steel ones?

and the last one is... what is the best pad-disk combination for the GXP? Ive seen a lot of info on the SSEI, but nothing for the GXP. Should I stick to regular GM ones? I would like to get slotted ones. & that makes me think about the ones in the GP GXP, do those fit?

thanks in advance.

Get some Powerslots for a GXP. They'll bolt right up, I assume.

You can get GP GXP rotors that are Cross drilled.

Ed
I have looked for powerslots for the GXP and I was unable to find the 12.7 rotors. However, EBC has them $$, but there are some set available on ebay, I think the are R1 concept.

Good luck.

Do any of you have any pictures of the bracket bolts?

as the only person that has swapped the GXP calipers on, i can give the answers

i dont know if GM hasa a Part number, but go to the dealer tell them what you need and its for an 04-05 GXP. with the parts diagrams they should be able to get you what you need

You are going to need GXP brake likes. The Stainless ones will not work because the GXP has a hard metal line that extends for several inches and the SS lines dont have this

i still have the OEM GM rotors and Pads. I will upgrade to the GP GXP Rotors, and a good set of ceramic pads when its time. Its a long way off but still

no real reason to go to the SS lines, acutally the ones from ZZP have had a few failures in the recent months. The stock ones are more than adequate, and yes i have tested them
