IIRC, new cars don't come with ashtrays and other similar amenities. A smoker's package adds that.

I'm not gonna take the console plate off again until it gets warmer so I don't risk breaking it. The original cracked at the thin point above the mirror controls. I haven't decided yet if I'm gonna put it in. I am going to put the rear one in though.

Ah, so instead of the kind of ugly 12v PP and the cubby, you have a cover that exposes an ashtray and a cig lighter. makes sense. I like the cubby there though. That'd be the perfect place for a phone, or in John's case, a garage door remote. We have the same ones for our garage at home, LOL.

Hey Pete, do your guages work when you use the remote start? I haven't gone back in to check the wiring yet, but the two times I've used the remote start, the guages don't work, and won't work until I leave the car for a while and come back. Even if I turn the car off, open the door to turn of the RAP, and start the car again with the key.

I know most cars Ive owned with remote start, most accessories and gagues such as that do not funtion until the key is turned on....?

Yeah, I put the key in and turned it to Run. I can drive around, turn the car off, open door, close it, and start the car, and they still don't work.

that is not an issue that I have.

my only current issue is illumination (they are alway lit, even when the others are off)

If I recall you said you picked a random one or the brown wires in the harness? and there where more then I said mine had?
I would try switching the wire to see what you get.

Oh yeah, mine had three brown wires instead of two. Would no CAN LOW signal prevent illumination and any needle movement?

B1(12v) > Lt Blue
B2(Illumination) > Yellow
B3(Ignition) > Pink/Blue
