Without question, the greatest invention in the history of mankind is beer. Oh, I grant you the wheel was also a fine invention, but the wheel does not go nearly as well with BBQ!!

Everything is setup. I'll head over to the bank on Monday morning (yes they are open on a holiday) and get the Cashiers Check. Then on Tuesday morning I have a 7:30am flight out of Minneapolis to Phoenix, with an hour wait until my 11:28a flight into Ontario California.

Re: Proud new 05 GXP owner
Andrew its a shame you couldn't take your GF with you.. It will be a beautiful drive back and there are quite a few sites to see..
I wish you the best... And will say, if you get tired its time to stop.. I have driven 1300 miles straight and have to say that was a stretch but I made it.. I was almost dead when I got there but I made it...
I generally can do 1000 Miles straight... But even then you have to stop and take a breath.. And it depends on how you feel as well... Also you need to move a little, flip the cruise off from time to time, just move a bit to keep from getting hypnotized by the road..
Best of luck on your venture

Andrew, even though I understand that expenses are tight and you are doing this as a job to make money, try and enjoy yourself.
I wouldn't go as far as to bring another mouth to feed, even with the side benefits of ...... companionship.
But take some time to smell the roses.
It should be an enjoyable experience not one you look back at and wish it were different.
Don't use the cruise control at all if you can. It keeps me more alert with it off.
I don't recommend driving straight for so long, alone. I know professional trucks do it all the time.....you can chime in anytime Rod or John.......but IMO it's not safe to drive more than 10 hours in a day.
I should bear in mind that Andrew is young and fit but also very human.
700 miles day is darn good distance but in the end only Andrew can decide what's best for him.
Hopefully he will bring his laptop and keep up posted during his voyage.
We will be routing for you Andrew.

Re: Proud new 05 GXP owner
Whats the longest drive you have taken before Andrew?
light meals help me stay alert, so does keeping the interior cool and driving from sunup to sundown. If its dark, I'm less alert. YMMV.

No lappy for andrew. Sounds like he'll post pics when he gets home. We may have another get together friday (end of semester, no school) and change oil and get some good pics, depends on when he gets back, etc.
