New owner 2000 SSEI. Did I get a good deal?

Post by jugriggs »

Picked up a 2000 SSEI with 121k. No major problems, exterior looks good one scratch. Leather is in great shape. I paid $3300.00. I know its way below book but ive never priced one before, drove it and really liked it just a spur of the moment deal not much research.

The car does have a few minor problems. The heat works for awhile, then blows to cold air then back to heat. The car is not running hot. It seems to have a mind of its own. The driverside heated seat kicks on for a second or two then kicks back off. Anyone have the same problem? How did they fix it? Driver lock button does not work. Left rear window does not work. I dont know if Ill even get these things looked at but thought there might be a quick fix.

$3300 for a 2000 SSEi is a pretty good deal. Not a steal, but a good deal nonetheless. Window is a common issue, needs a new regulator, the bushings inside are shot. There is a fix for the heated seat in Techinfo. Basically the wiring is shorted out, and needs to be soldered.

Oh, and Welcome!!! I hope you like it here, everyone's really nice, and knows a lot about these cars.

I cant seem to find the teq thread. Can anyone link it? The heat will be my first task. It will work great, then cold air, then work great. Something eletrical? Vent not opening?

I found the window regulator repair in the tec section. Nothing about the heated seats. Anyone else have a similar problem with the heat?

$3300 seems like a VERY good deal to me. Granted yours has issues, but don't we all.

Oops, your Heater doesn't work. I thought you said heated seats. My bad.

Sounds like a bad air mix actuator.
