security system
I'm pretty sure that my security system somehow got messed up. I didn't drive it for a couple days and now it won't start. Or when it starts it runs for a little bit (about 30 secs) then just dies. When it doesn't start it still turns over but it doesn't catch. We have tried the 10 min key thing and that doesn't work. When the door is opened sometime it has a real fast chime and we have gotten the service security system message in the DIC. What would your suggestions be to fix it or to get it running long enough to take it to a shop?

Re: security system
If the security system was the problem, the starter wouldn't activate. Check your fuel pressure, as a start, as well as pulling the vacuum line from the fuel pressure regulator to see if there is any fuel in it, or has a fuel smell.
Another test, that seems to be hit or miss on the newer models, is to pull the connection to the MAF sensor and see if the car starts then.

Re: security system
The fuel shouldn't be a problem, we checked and there wasn't a problem with it. I've heard that a security system will either disable the starter or turn off the fuel pump.

Re: security system
The fact that it runs for 30 seconds and dies indicates it is NOT the security system causing the issue. The security system would not allow it to even start, let alone run for 30 seconds. The issue is mechanical in nature. Check and replace, if necessary, the plugs and wires, coil packs, battery/connections, and make sure your vehicle is not on a slight incline while having low fuel (happens a lot to people actually!)
Things it could be that are a bit more difficult are the crankshaft sensor, ignition module, or fuel pump. I really just do NOT think it is the security system, because the security system would NOT allow the vehicle to run for 30 seconds.

Re: security system
Did you check the fuel pressure with a gauge, or just press the valve to see if some would come out? It can have a decent spray that way, and still not have enough to start the car.
Was there something that lead up to this particular problem?

Re: security system
Not that I'm aware of. I had a bad front end accident, but it was totally repaired and the car ran perfectly fine for two-three weeks before this happened. It doesn't have low fuel but I'll check the things you've listed next chance I get. I don't know if this will help or not, but the battery died after this started happening so I got it charged back up and it started up and ran fine enough to go to town and back which is about 20-30 min trip.

Re: security system
Have you been messing around under the hood at all?
When we were working on Beast00's car today, we had a vacuum line disconnected. The car would start up just fine, run for about 30 seconds and once the idled tried to slow down, it would stall out and die. I had forgot to connect the T-fitting under the SC snout that goes into the LIM.
Get in there and check all the vacuum lines, and like Archon said, did you check the fuel pressure with an actual gauge?

harofreak that sounds exactly like what my car did a couple times. That'll be the first thing Ill test. No I didn't use an actual gauge, I just did a quick test.

Re: security system
Took it to a shop due to lack of time to do it myself. Turns out it was some wires in the front end that had got bunched and not working right.
