driver door issue...

Post by gxp937 »

Everytime it gets under 20 degrees my driver door and right rear passenger door doesn't unlock with the keyless entry. I have to use the key to unlock the door. but the door's on the passenger side are fine. Any answer's on why this is happening? It's no big deal, For one this winter the weather really hasn't been that bad. Yet!

Does it sound like it tries to unlock? If it does, I would say the mechanical parts may need lubricated. If not it might be the solenoid acting up.

It only takes a little moisture on the unlock solenoid to freeze inside the door. Next time it happens, get in the car with the key (does it unlock all doors like mine?) and see if the other 'frozen' door unlocks that way. If it doesn't, hit the power unlock on the drivers door and see if they all lock/unlock.

Need to determine if this is just a keyless issue or a power lock/unlock solenoid issue.

it must be the solenoid because when its suppose to lock when you put it in drive the driver door stay's unlocked

Sounds like what Bill said. Moisture in the lock cylinder.

Check your DIC programming, this is actually an option you must choose when you do the personal programming.
