The under hood is going to be a total transformation. I might even get some MSD coils and red wires to offset it, IDK yet.

Ok, so Andrew came today, with his die grinder, and a bunch of other stuff. He brought FSM's, S/C oil, and a Vacuum line he got for me in Mankato at the dealer. So first, we cleaned up the sealing surfaces of the manifold, TB and S/C.
Image

After that, we started assembly. It only took 2 and a half hours to assemble the top end and get it running.

After that, I took it out for a drive, and an issue propped up. The fuel injector o-ring came out, due to the piece on the bottom of it breaking, and allowing it to not seal, and get caught on the lip. Oh, yeah, and Andrew ran the plug wires under the snout of the blower, and knocked the vacuum T off. :bsnicker: After that, It ran fine, so we installed the MPS, which went relatively smooth. We couldn't test it out due to too much ice on the roads. Also, we cleared the front corners, which took the pro like, 20 minutes for both sides.

Final Pics:

I need to install my INTENSE stickers, but I'm waiting for the windows to heat up.

Andrew parked his car inside, so it could thaw it out.

Love this post. As many things as Andrew has undertaken, this is something he could do in his sleep. Great job!

Just got home and showered. Let me be the first to say, this will NOT be the last meet at Ed's house. His shop is amazing (with hoist!!), and the house incredible. While we were there, he made me a pork loin sandwich and his dad made cheeseburgers and deep-fried moz sticks and fries. I don't really like drinking beer when I have to drive home, so I stuck with the dew.

The work did go pretty quick, and it was nice that Ed had everything ripped apart when I got there. The gasket materials cleaned up real nice with the die grinder and then it was to installation. While the pictures make it look like I was doing all the work, Ed wasn't standing around by any means. We both were in there, dropping bolts

The issue with the injector o-rings was the first I had seen like that. One of the o-ring retaining tabs had broken off the bottom of the injector so the o-ring was basically just sitting there. When we installed it, the o-ring went in a little crooked and got caught on the injector port and took a chunk of the o-ring off. When the car was running, it sounded like a HUGE vacuum leak. It was pretty easy to see the problem, and ripping the fuel rail off only took about 20 minutes.

The MPS installation went pretty smooth after we got the directions from the INTENSE website, its been a while since I have had to use that thing.

Sorry my car is so filthy, the roads are so salty/sandy here that it just doesn't make sense to keep it clean. On the way home, I got stuck in traffic going 37-43mph in a 55mph zone for about 30 miles, very frustrating.

Thanks again to Ed for letting me stop by at his facilities, and wash my tools in his parts washer!
