02 SSEi suspension upgrade questions

Post by NWASSEi »

I am having a heck of a time finding suspension upgrade parts, strut tower braces, springs etc. Will the gtp stuff of the same year fit?

Thanks

No, forget about using GP stuff.
You have an H body not a W body.
05 GXP suspension is your friend. Get the STB! It makes a big difference.

No - it wont. The Grand Prix is a W-Body, 100% different platform than the H-Body Bonneville. I believe the strut tower brace from the STS fits...and obviously the GXP one with some slight modification. The 00+ SSEi never came with a STB, so you won't find one for your year.

GMPartsDirect.com and Ed Morad (GM 3800 parts dealer) http://www.moradpartscompany.com are good places to start. Check eBay as well.

EDIT: Posted @ the same time as you SilverBullet..lol.

i have the GXP suspension on my car, its a pretty big difference from stock. Rides stiffer due to the valving in the struts, and the springs are thicker/stiffer. also the cornering is much better because the sways are solid and larger diameter

gxp is same body different suspension so gxp is best option. but i thought i heard that the front STB from the 92-99 bonnes work on the 00+

No, the 92-99 STB will only work on the 87-91. The GXP STB works on the 00-05 Bonnevilles that didn't get one from the factory.
