Climate control display showing 3 lines.

Post by Downeasta »

So a few days ago, i installed an aftermarket stereo head unit, and blew a few fuses in the process :-# I blew the drivers info, hud, etc. But after replacing all those fuses, my digital climate control screen is just displaying 3 lines. Like 3 horizontal dash-marks things. It doesnt respond to me pushing buttons, but it is continuously on (before i blew the fuse, it was set to defrost, and that's what its doing now) So, did i miss a fuse, or does something have to be reset? I didn't check the fuse box on the passenger side kick panel yet, im wondering if it could be one of those. Thanks for helping a Bonne noob out :)

Have you checked all fuses in all other places? you might have missed something, like a relay. I don't know much about the 92-99 stuff, Just basics.

Umm. I have checked the fuse box under the driver's side dash, but beyond that, no. Where are the relays located? I also know there is a fuse box on the passenger side, but its harder to get at.

Looking on another forum, I see you cut the wiring harness off your car. That is probably your problem. The climate control is erroring. Double check your wiring.

The thing that puzzles me is that my stereo works perfectly, so I'm not sure how my climate control is screwy. My other question, is how would re-wiring my stereo mess up my climate control in the first place?

:laughing3: Those links Harofreak provided are all threads at the old site with your symptoms and most all of them were reported after the owner was doing radio/stereo mods. I was curious, just from the gained knowledge standpoint. A couple of them were caused by a blown "9C." Trouble is, I can't find where that one is on Alldata and my FSM is setting at home. Read those through; too much info to put here. Good stuff.
