Very true. I have been up over 100 three times since the high speed run. These day's I'm typically in a rush when you see me going 7-9 mph over the speed limit.superchargedSSEi wrote:Just a coincidence that pretty much all of us who have had our cars above 150mph have no desire to do it again? 150 on public roads that you don't have control over is tough. If you've got a huge flat and you're in BFE it's not bad, but there's still animals, road kill, litter, etc to mess you up. Also most street cars don't have the Aero for this. My GTI has a dimpled underbody tray, and a pretty slippery profile, but the rear end is pretty lively for a FWD car, I haven't had mine above 100 really yet. OE all seasons don't help the situation anyways.superchargedSSEi wrote:Just a coincidence that pretty much all of us who have had our cars above 150mph have no desire to do it again? I'd venture 160ish at best. Aero isn't really on his side compared to some cars, and He's prob not doing 400 HP on a Gen V, rockers, and headers back exhaust. Impossible to know though until he goes and maxes out.....willwren wrote:Paul's post above is based on GEARING, but doesn't take into account aero drag, or all the other smaller factors. Paul's car in actuality is in the 160/170mph range.
