Tire Pressure Monitor Question(s)

Post by blubyu »

Do GXP's have the band type or valve stem type?
What if I put new wheels on and don't use the monitors? Will I have to look at a low tire pressure signal constantly?
I was thinking of buying a mounted and balanced tire-wheel combo from the tire rack, but wondering about the monitoring system.

The GXP doesn't use either. It relies on the wheel speed sensors to tell the computer how fast the wheels are turning. A tire going flat will spin just a little more than the full ones and set off the DIC low pressure alarm.. Many members including me have went to aftermarket wheels without a problem. :)
