I got the chrome trim put on, changed the oil pressure sensor, changed the oil, and filled her up with fuel.

Looks very good Andrew.
The only thing I could pick up on was the dirty brake fluid in the master cylinder.

Re: Since everyone else is buying cars (more pics pg 2,3,4,5,6)
Car's looking good for sure.
Call me "shady," but I personally would not mention the trans work in the ad (beyond perhaps mentioning filter, fluid change). I think many potential buyers might see the ad, say to themselves "oh, it needed trans work" and pass it by.
On the other hand, if a potential buyer who happens to be knowledgable about 4T65E asks about common issues (OD, PCS), you can tell them what you did and show them the pics to prove it.
IMO, restoring OD as you did does not add value (like say, a full trans rebuild would) so much as restore the value of the car to typical blue book for it's age, miles, options, location and condition (and I believe your asking price is very fair, BTW).

i agree with agrazela, to the average joe the trans work means nothing and could potentially cause you to lose a buyer, plus its more to explain during a showing.

Re: Since everyone else is buying cars (more pics pg 2,3,4,5,6)
First call. A guy is coming to look at it this evening. The first thing he asked was how long I have owned it. I told him about a month and hes like "oh". I told him everything about the transmission and he still seems interested. He asked how firm I was on the price, and I told him since I just listed it yesterday I would like to get $3500, but ask I asked what he was thinking. He said $3000 cash, I told him how about $3200. Then I told him to come drive the car first and then we can start talking prices. He said ok, has to drive about 1.5 to see it, so he must be pretty serious. I think if he is still offering $3000 when he gets here, I'll take it. KBB says I should:
Excellent
$3,490
Good
$3,090
Fair
$2,590
Excellent

$3000 cash now is better than waiting 3-4 weeks for $3200 in my book. Insurance alone would eat that away. Plus you can get on to your next project rather easily then.
Good luck with the sale.

Re: Since everyone else is buying cars (more pics pg 2,3,4,5,6)
Um, it costs me like $20 per month per "extra car" and I dont have a very shining record......If your paying $200 for an ADDITIONAL car on your policy you are getting screwed.JimmyFloyd wrote:$3000 cash now is better than waiting 3-4 weeks for $3200 in my book. Insurance alone would eat that away.
To have my cavalier on my policy is $16 extra each month for basic everything with annual mileage 3000 miles or less.

I was feeling ambitious today so I replaced the front motor mount with hockey pucks. There is ZERO movement now, not like the bang into gear it had before.

Re: Since everyone else is buying cars (more pics pg 2,3,4,5,6)
Can I give you $3100 for it, fly up, and drive it back? I wouldn't want to drive it back to IN without an IM gasket change, you know. I'd have to double-check, but all I would need is a temporary registration for state-to-state transportation and that's about it. I'd offer the $3500 you're asking, but I have to consider the ticket cost, temp registration cost, and all the $$$ involved in driving it back. Ever done a temp registration?
