How much would YOU pay for this car??

ONLY 37,000 MILES!! Ok, wipe the drool from your dropped jaw. I talked to the seller (a dealer) and from what she said, it's a perfect car. BUT, they want $5000 for it. Kelley Blue Book says $2110. How much do YOU think I should pay?

They'll never get what they are asking, unless a boob comes by and spazzes out. They are only inflating the price due to its' cleanliness and low miles. Honestly wait a while after looking at it, and make sure you drop them your phone number. They'll eventually call back with a more reasonable price. $3k seems like a more reasonable price, IMO.

Yeah, ya sort of wonder what "Barn" they pulled this car out of. I would really want to know the "History" of this car.

$5000 is definitely too much. It's a super clean car with low miles, but it's also 20 years old. My problem with 20 year old cars is finding good sources for replacement parts like interior trim pieces when they break. 20 year old plastic gets brittle and breaks fairly easily. Body panels get more difficult to find as you get past 20 years old, if you have any fender-benders. Paying $5000 for a 37,000 mile car sounds okay on the surface, but stacking 20 years of age on it, even being in perfect condition, makes it worth less, IMO. I agree with the $3000 ballpark.

Nice car... Though like the other, I'd only go for the $2000 to $3000 range.

holy christ, that thing is flawless. I don't know about $5k though. I'd easily pay $3k and would even consider $4k.

i agree, really nice car, but $5000 is VERY stiff. $2,500 tops...

:eek2: If i had money like that i would buy it.It just looks perfect. You should drive it first. All we can see is that it looks good. how it drives is just ass important. Where i work i have seen cars with 20,000 miles and drive like crap. I would offer them 4 grand for it. If they are smart they would sell it for that price.

There was one identical to that here that sat on a dealer's lot for a long time. Could even be the same one, that dealer sold out to someone else and one day all the cars were gone. I think they were asking $4500 for the one here and like I said, it never sold. I was interested in it until I saw the ABS. That was a deal breaker for me knowing what I know about the ABS system for this body style.
It's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. If I was in the market for another one I wouldn't pay much over $3K for it.

I'm in the opinion of the 2-3k range. I'd definately pick it up for $3k if I had the extra cash though... its really nice.

BUT... most T Types in excellent condition only bring about $4k and they're rarer than the SSE (I think).

From what I gathered it was the same owner since 1988. An old lady, who eventually couldn't drive anymore so her husband got rid of it. Dealer says they just gave it a tune up. (I wonder if that's what the Driver Information system told them to do. :laughing3: )

Wow, well, despite the near showroom condition $5000 is highly inflated. Dealers do this kinda thing. They know that only an enthuaist would pay above market value due to the rarity of a car in that condition. I went through the same thing, a local dealer had a 1999 black Aurora with 9900 miles (15 940kms) and they wanted $12 888. Thats about double the book value on a 99 in excellent condition.

Her Husband got rid of it??? Why? Is he still driving his 1967 Pontiac GTO with 365HP and 49,000 miles on it. They have no kids or relatives that wanted that car?? They virtually GAVE it to the dealer to sell???

I'd pay about $3000 since it's very rare to find one like it. But, I'm a moron.

HAHA!! From what I remember the lady telling me, he drove a larger truck, and she drove the SSE. Then when she stopped driving, he traded both in, and got a Ranger. LOL

Offer them $3k, and see how they take it.
