I am likely to catch heat for asking here. I have a customer with a GP GXP with a 5.3 and they said the transmission went out in it. No forward or reverse gears. Fluid has a slight burn smell to it.
This vehicle has the paddle shifters on it and I would likely know what different cues there are, if any, between this transmission and other 4T65e transmissions other than being an HD unit.
Input is greatly appreciated and thanks in advance

Re: 2005 Gxp transmission question
The 4t65e just can't handle being behind the 5.3. They are an extremely common failure point.
According to interchange, it has to be from another 2005 GP GXP. I'm not sure what the actual differences are between the years, likely electronic differences.
