Guys,
Took the wife to her doctor's appointment yesterday and heading home the Bonneville just dies? complete shutdown! (no check engine light) it started right up, and we were on our way then it happened again just died? Complete shutdown! (No check engine light) she started right up again, and we drove another 10 miles to home. Hooked up the engine scanner no codes.
Any ideas on what would cause a complete electrical shutdown out there from Bonneville owners.
Thanks
Tim

Check the battery cables for corrosion, including the ground that connects to the chassis outboard of the battery. Corrosion can work it's way up the copper, under the insulation and add too much resistance. Add heat soak from driving around and it's worse.

Took the wife out to run some errands and the old Bonny just died while driving. Running the A/C because of the above 90-degree temp today. Temp gauge was up to normal range. All grounds cleaned a couple of months ago. Let her cool down to about 180 degrees and it fired right up and got us home with no issues. I didn't run the A/C heading home. Could it be A/C related?

On 20+ yr old cars, the actual cables will have corrosion under the insulation that starts at the connector then creeps way up into the cable. That's more what I was suggesting vs checking the connections.
