2001 SE engine misfire

Hello,

2001 SE 221K miles.

I have been having this issue on and off all year. When I’m in high gear (full load) and I accelerate I get a “miss” or a “jerk”.
4 months ago I replaced my ignition module, coils, plugs as wires and the problem went away.

It’s back again. No codes.

However today when it happened, I had my window open and when it started to miss, the smell of fuel and/or exhaust almost made me wanna gag.

I have been talking to Andrew about this on and off. I don’t have expensive diagnostic tools. I can only assume I have good spark and compression.

I’m thinking it may be the injectors?
