I have had this thought in my mind for some time about wanting to transplant an ALT from a SC vehicle to me NA SLE. I only mention this because the voltage needle on the gauge sometimes will spike down but rebound after a few seconds. I haven't had it tested out of the car yet. Parts store tested it in car and they said it's good.
But I am still leaning toward the SC ALT in that it (I think) has a higher amp rating.
Thoughts and suggestions welcome

The alternators are a completely different style. The wiring harness won't reach the plug.

sometimes you can have an alternator rebuilt with higher output internals. If that is what your wanting I would find a local alternator rebuild shop and inquire from them if they can do that for you.
