1999 Pontiac Bonneville fan switch--- nothing works

Post by wpbrink »

Went to turn on the heat in the car last night and none of the fan selections is working at all. I'm not good at testing components and I have no idea what the problem would be. Is it the switch itself?

Blower motor resistor or the blower motor itself more likely. If you're not good at testing, just simply replace both of them. Replacements are cheap.

I think Andrew's advice still applies - blower motor brushes and commutators wear out. If you're sporting the original blower motor in your '98, it's probably due.
