2002 Buick Regal
Wow, looks like few people are active on here anymore, anyways my wife took her Regal to town to pick up our grandson and when leaving, the car made a clicking sound when she tried to start it and then nothing at all, the ignition key wont turn to off and the gear shifter will not come out of park with the normal foot on the brake. There is absolutely no power anywhere, power seat, windows, nothing. At the battery there was only 8 volts and no previous symptoms of a failing battery, we have noticed the remote start fails to start the first time lately but usually fires on the second attempt. Its being towed home shortly so I will check battery first but I can not comprehend the ignition switch and the gear selector issue unless the remote start has locked the system up. Any thoughts will be appreciated

Nice on figuring out out. The corrosion on the battery terminals will sneak up on you.

You are correct, top post batteries are easier to spot the corrosion, never seen that issue lock the key and gear shift up95naSTA wrote:Nice on figuring out out. The corrosion on the battery terminals will sneak up on you.
