drivers window wont go up

Post by 96 SSEi »

hi all!,

my drivers window wont go up: stuck all the way down - all others work fine.

I can hear a click from the door when I move the toggle. I dont hear the reg. motor

it was a bit slower than the rest before it quit.

do the switches connector get corroded like in my 96?

thanks.....

ok, its fixed.

left the window down ( no choice) overnight and when I tried in acc. pos., it works well.

is there some internal breaker in there?

ok, it stopped working yesterday and this time, I had to wait overnight and start the engine to get it to go up.

I guess I'll have to do some exploitative surgery on the door with a multimetre. I wouldnt be surprised if it traces back to my walmart 6 year old battery: at least in part.

Sounds like the motor brushes are worn. When it does not work, press the window up and bang the middle of the inside door panel repeatedly, like a jack hammer. If the windows goes up its the brushes. I replaced the brushes in a window motor. You can also buy a new motor.
