Dexron III help!

Post by Highway Patrol »

Hey everyone, I've got an issue. I just realized that my 1994 SSEi's ATF level is a full quarter inch below the crosshatch :eek2: . Now, I'm freaking out because I just figured out that Dexron III isn't even MADE anymore and I'm hearing mixed reviews about Dexron VI in our cars! So basically, can I use Dexron VI to top off the Dexron III (which is what I've already got in there)? Also, I've seen these other name-brand companies claiming to make a Dex III? Would I be able to mix that with what I've already got?

I have been using Dexron VI exclusively for years with no issues. GM has also approved use of Dex 6 in all of its Dex 3 applications.

People keep mentioning the "mixed" reviews, but I haven't actually seen any bad feedback on it, and would be curious to see it.

I think AC Delco still sells dexron III (H) under part # 10-9240.
