Transmission external cooler fitting help at 4t65e Please

Hello-
My 2003 SE has a transmission cooler mounted! Need your help with the proper size of the lines in our 4t65e.
How did you guys bypass the radiator and connect it to the transmission? My problem is finding ANY fitting that will work, or even an adapter that will work with tye existing OEM quick connectors. I believe one is a 9/16"-18 and the other is a 3/8"-18. I did find a 3/8" fitting that may work, but that requires me draining the fluid simply to find out... hoping for your experience please!
Did anyone cut their metal lines and take that approach? If so, how did you make a buldge/notch/barb so that your house wouldn't simply fly off?

SO YOUR COOLER CAME WITH NO fittings?

you can cut the line into rad and splice in a metal line with a union: you need a flare tool to do it properly. but for the trans low pressure, you can use a compression fitting. you can then put the fitting of your choice on the end.

Yeah- Hayden 679 cooler came with barbed fittings- they advertised an installation adapter for our trans, but that only works for one of the sides (as it turns out 8 qts later of fluid). Hoping to bypass the radiator/transmission heater altogether as I love in Florida.

ok, I would first take the cooler to a home depot type place and find the correct size: if no joy, you go to a specialty plumbing place and you may get lucky

if you get the flare tool, you can easily repair all metal lines including brake and home plumbing. if you in a hurry, you can cut the line into rad , flare, and use your existing kit.
