Stalling, just replaced belts and tensioner- GARAGE IS LOST

Post by jddem »

2001 SSEi
86k miles

The main belt snapped this morning.

Was able to get to garage and had the replace both belts (main and super charger)
I got a call saying the tensioner was seized and need replacing.
I had them do it (trust worthy place)

I pick up car get 1 mile down road, and car starts stalling....
I have "2 pedal" it" take back to garage.

Check engine light comes on: MAF sensor
we put new one in, SAME thing!

I left at garage. Any ideas ???

I can tell they are lost

Without knowing the exact code, it's likely that we are lost too.

Only off the cuff shots are possible broken wiring or vacuum lines in the general work area. Also look at the area along the intake manifold near the belt path. Breaking the MAP sensor or PCV valve cap (don't know which) can create a massive vacuum leak.

Thanks for input.
I called to get exact code and they said it was fixed.

Vacuum line under supercharger had a crack in it
had to splice and fix

seems good

it could have cracked when belt snapped or when replacing tensioner
either way i learned something and car is fixed.
