96 BONN SE NO FWD REV GEARS

Post by gmman »

need to be educated what to expect from transmission shop for 96 Bonneville se no fwd or rev gears. rev went out first followed by fwd. now no movement at all. I can detect slight change in tach rpm when selecting fwd or rev. as though engine is loaded maybe by torque converter. all suggestions will be appreciated.

Unless it's a line pressure issue (doesn't see to be) or OD going out on a 97+ 4t65, there's not a whole lot to diagnose on these transmissions. It'll have to come out and be broken down to find the issue. And it'll be cheaper in most cases to put a used trans with the correct year/fdr in instead of a rebuild.
