Steering wheel hub adaptor
Hey guys. What's the size and tooth count, or what hub adapter did you use for 6 bolt steering wheels? I've found that gm typically uses 1/2" 36 tooth splines for their wheels.

Re: Steering wheel hub adaptor
What are you trying to do, just remove the steering wheel?

Re: Steering wheel hub adaptor
I'm trying to replace it. The OEM one is pretty worn and leaves sticky residue on my hands when driving.

Re: Steering wheel hub adaptor
Trying wiping it down with a heavy duty degreaser like Simple Green, you might be amazed.
The simple way to remove the steering wheel:
Remove the airbag, horn and airbag wiring, and steering wheel wiring (if you have it)
Use a 21mm socket to loosen the nut, but don't fully remove
Grab the steering wheel and shake it back and forth like a crazy person. It should pop free in 4-5 pulls. The nut you left on will keep the steering wheel from hitting you in the face and/or damaging the wires.
Once its loose, remove the nut the rest of the way and fish the wires out of the steering wheel.

Re: Steering wheel hub adaptor
Yep I got that, but what is the size and tooth count of the column? I have a GM adapter but i'm not sure if its the right size. The one I got is 3/4" 36 tooth for GM, Buick, Pontiac, Chevy.

Re: Steering wheel hub adaptor
36 tooth is correct, but I measured the shaft closer to 5/8".
