"New" wheels!

Post by bogard985 »

I was at a pick and pull today and as I was walking out I saw these sitting all together with 4 good tires on them. I asked how much they were and the manager who is Guatemalan quoted me $300 for the set. Still a steal for what they are and their condition. I asked for a lower price and said something to him in Spanish. He was so happy that someone made the effort to speak (bad) Spanish to him that he gave them to me for $240. 4 wheels and tires!!! They just need polished up a bit.
You can see the before and after as my signature is with my old rims. Which I'm selling by the way and they still have about 65-70%
of their tread remaining.

They aren't bad looking rims. I have them ( with a 5th for the spare tire ) on my SLE. They are a bear to clean by hand though. A power ball would be a good investment. I'm hoping to get lucky and find 2 more swoopies in the yard...for some reason I only found 2 the first time. I can't complain though, after bringing back 2 old aluminum rims from my Astro, I paid a grand total of 12 bucks a rim ( bad tires ).
A temporary fix does not exist. It becomes a solution until it needs to be fixed again.

I do like those wheels, Kind of wanted to get a set for the '93 but I still have my chrome swoopies off the '01. Those look great on your SE though.

Those would look sharp refinished in a gloss silver color.
