Tree sap and pine tar

Post by Tamara »

Has anyone found any product that actually removes this? I have used highly recommended Goo Gone, and it was useless =; . I let it sit for about 10 minutes and it didn't even soften the sap. The sap is all over my new car! 8-[

Clay bar. The only thing that always works and is safe for your finish. Found at any auto parts store.

gasoline will get it out, but clay bar is better for your paint.

Perfect! My hubby just got a clay bar from me for his birthday. Time to see how well it works!

I was looking at the Turtle Wax bug and tar remover stuff...but after Goo Gone was a huge disappointment, I wasn't keen on spending another $10 on something else that might not work.

Clay Bar should work fine. The real cure is to not park under trees. I would also add light poles because birds perch on the light poles.

Bug and tar Remover DOES work, guaranteed. It's worth the $5 for a bottle. I would not go using a clay bar on a bunch of tree sap and ruin a good clay bar by infesting it with sap. I'd use bug and tar remover first to get all that heavier sap and gunk/dirt off first, THEN use a clay bar for the finer embedded dirt/contaminants. But that's just how I work.
