Bear with me, I can`t take pictures but will try to describe this as best as I can.
2000 SSEi. There is a vacuum operated switch(?) on the front of the motor on the drivers side. It has an electrical connection and a line that goes to an arm that goes into the upper intake. There is a vacuum line that comes from the passenger side. There is also a nipple that has no line on it and I can`t find a hose anywhere to go to it. Is something missing or is this the way it is supposed to be??
Missing vacuum line or not??

Sounds like you're describing the Supercharger boost control solenoid http://www.pontiacbonnevilleclub.com/fo ... id#p211246
On the passenger's side of the valve, there is a single vacuum hose attached to it that also goes to the fuel pressure regulator, a vacuum fitting under the s/c snout and the MAP sensor..
On the driver's side of the valve there are 2 fittings; 1 connects via a vacuum hose to the boost control actuator (the part directly above it)
The other fitting should have a foam filter which usually just disintegrates over time
http://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php ... 53&jsn=542 shows 10 of them

Re: Missing vacuum line or not??
Thanks MKMike.
That answers my question perfectly.
This may seem like a stupid question, but does it matter which nipple that hose is on??

Re: Missing vacuum line or not??
I don't think it's a stupid question. Yes, it matters.
The one with the filter is designed to be a vent.
The port with the vacuum hose is designed to apply vacuum to the boost control actuator.
The port for the filter has a retaining clip on it.

Thanks.
Re: Missing vacuum line or not??
Agreed.
My boost solenoid has a vac line connected from bottom port (Drivers side of car) to the bottom of the boost actuator (thing with arm, kind of like a wastegate). then the other side of the solenoid (Passenger side) connects a vac line to the fuel pressure regulator. there is a vent on the top drivers side of the solenoid (mine has a foam filter on it but if its missing it looks like vac line is missing).
look at pic on this link..
