security light on, car will not start.

Hello everyone. So sometimes when I try to start my car by turning the key the security light turns on and stays on and it will not let me start the car. Does anyone know what is happening and if it is easy to fix? Please help. Thank you in advance.

have you figured this out? sounds like you need a vats key bypass or dish out for a new key. if you havent squared it away i can help with the bypass its very simple

Try cleaning the pellet on the key with rubbing alcohol and a Q-tip

Usually I would wait ten minutes and try again and it would start but now it just won't start.

yeh, I used to buy cool little electronics components from radio shack but now the like selling pcs and tv more........check a hobby electronics store for resistors - be sure to get the correct values
