Series 1 Fuel Injector Options
Someone had probably asked this before but I can't find it. What options do I have for improved fuel injectors?
95 SSEI (modified-cammed, ported & portmatched, custom Positraction trans)
99 C5 (too original-can't bear to make it a project)
09 Escalade (to tow my projects around)
03 Bmw 330 Cic (the foreigner)

Unless you've done mods to increase airflow enough that your injectors are maxed out, getting a stock set rebuilt and flow matched would be best. If you actually need more fuel, series 2 l67 injectors have a higher flow rate. I use them to balance out the 94/95's larger tb/sc I put on my 92.

Ok, I'm running ported and port matched heads, polished the intake and running a Walbro fuel pump. Series 2 fuel injectors look like they are shaped differently. Do I need anything additional to add them?

You will need to tune the ECU for the correct injector sizes or it will not run properly. Most any GM injector from the same era should swap. The L67 injectors are ~36lb/hr, LQ1 (3.4L DOHC) are about 24lb/hr. If your NA with ported heads/intake then a tune will adjust the fueling with your existing injectors. Your ECU will also add fuel if it is leaning out as well. I would run the stock injectors and find a way to scan the Fuel Trims and go from there.

Your LTFTs will tell you if you're lean overall and injector duty cycle at WOT will give you an idea of you're running out of injector.
Keep in mind there were two different fuel pressure regulators for series 1 L67s. 92/93 had a 3.0 Bar and the 94/95 had a 2.7 Bar.
If you need to squeeze a little more out of your injectors you can swap to that 3.0 regulator.
Make sure when you're comparing injector flow rates, they're at the same pressure.

Ok, we'll start with the 3.0 regulator. I have a 92 and a 95 engine in my garage right now. On a side note, thinking of running an extremely small pulley. I see I can get a 1.9" pulley. That would probably force a custom tune and larger injectors right?
BTW, engine is totally out of the car right now, so trying to "do it right" before I put it back in.
