Another day, another issue lol.
Service Stability System. Might be fun trying to track that one down. New wheel hub might be in order?

Re: My 2001 SSEi
The "delay" knob next to the HUD controls is the "Twilight Sentinel". Basically it controls how long the headlights stay on after you exit the car. It can be set for up to 3 minutes or it can be turned off.
Also, if you figure out that "Service Stability System" message let me know. Mine comes on occasionally too. I think it's one of those messages that most of us have learned to ignore. But, I wouldn't hesitate to check everything out to make sure there is not a major problem. As far as windows go, do the windows operate when using the controls on the door itself? I would check voltage to the window motors to see if the motors are bad. When I bought my '01 7 or 8 years ago, the only window that operated was the drivers window. The others were rarely used and the seller just never replaced the bad motors. Apparently, lack of use is worse than constant use on wearing out window motors. I've also had to replace my driver's door control module. You don't want to have to buy that new! If the orange wires going to each door module (black box with wires plugged into it) then your Driver's module is good. If you have power coming in (orange wires), then the driver's door module is good. If you don't have ground at the wires going to the door modules, then I think that means the wires under the seat are in need of attention. Look at my post from a couple of weeks ago. Someone posted the colors and pin location of the ground wires at the door modules. (I'm OLDMAN) on this site. Good luck, and have fun! Lots of little things on your list, but they all sound quite manageable. Lots of great support on this site. I would recommend finding a good "pull your own part" salvage yard. I have two near me and they have saved me thousands of dollars. Also, get to know Harofreak. He's got any part you need and will get it to you quick and at a good price.

Oldman, first off, thank you so much for all the help you have provided me. You have put a lot of time helping me on all my little issues.
I very quickly jumped to the conclusion of needing to fix that wire harness under my seat. Thanks for making that more clear. I'll double check the easy stuff before pulling my seat.
Things to note:
1. Lock/unlock only works from driver side.
2. Locking/unlocking only affects the drivers door.
3. None of the other window controls work.
4. When opening any door besides driver, the dome lights don't come on.

Re: My 2001 SSEi
Here's the wires to check for voltage and ground at the other three doors control module. This was sent to me by someone else. The plugs have the pin numbers (actually letters) marked on them. You should have voltage with key on as well as ground. If you have voltage, the door module for that door is bad. If you don't, the driver's door module is bad. If you don't have ground, putt the seat and repair wires. Good luck man!
There are two connectors on that door module. One has 12 cavities and the other has 4. Each connector has a ground and battery positive wire, although the 4 cavity connector has heavy gauge wire since it's for the window motor supply.
On the 12 cavity connector, battery positive voltage must be present on terminal 'M' (wire colour is orange).
On the 4 cavity connector, battery positive voltage must be present on terminal 'A' (wire colour is orange).
On the 12 cavity connector, ground must be present on terminal 'H' (wire colour is black with a white stripe).
On the 4 cavity connector, ground must be present on terminal 'D' (wire colour is black).
In this particular case, the only orange wires are battery positive voltage and therefore easy to identify. There are a total of 3 wires on the LRDM that are black with a white stripe. Terminal 'H' is very important because this is the ground for the circuitry logic. Without it, the module will not function. You need to know that GM does not have a cavity labeled 'I' on this connector because it would be easy to confuse with '1'.

Re: My 2001 SSEi
I was able to install the LED fog lights and stereo over the weekend. I still need to mess with the mounting of the stereo bracket. I read someone was able to reuse the stock radio clips so I'll have to try that.

What brand of fog lights did you use? I like them!bigchieftaco90 wrote:I was able to install the LED fog lights and stereo over the weekend. I still need to mess with the mounting of the stereo bracket. I read someone was able to reuse the stock radio clips so I'll have to try that.

I bought some cheapies from Amazon. I usually go with JDM ASTARs but I didn't want to drop $30 on fog lights.98SSE wrote: What brand of fog lights did you use? I like them!
Here is the exact set I bought. Very similar to the JDMs imo.
Hoping to get a set of Philips 9012 HIR2 soon. Winter = more night driving.

I installed Haro's boat roller transmission mount last night.
Where have you been all my life?!?! This is amazing! Such a big difference. I'm happier than a pet coon!

Re: My 2001 SSEi
Alright guys. I spent Saturday taking that cheap stereo out and putting in a new Pioneer double din stereo.
I went with the FHX-720BT because I felt like it was the best stereo in the $100 range.
It has some pretty cool features that I didn't know about until I installed.
It has a Pandora Mode. The stereo will automatically start Pandora on my phone and stream via Bluetooth when I start the car. It's a pretty neat feature that I think I will use a lot since Pandora is my main source for music.

Also, I've noticed the car shifts kind of funny. Before I installed the tranny mount I just kind of thought the broken mount might have been the reason but I still notice it.
It feels like a hiccup or something. On my way to work today it seemed like it was shifting very slow. What do you guys think? Transmission going out?

Re: My 2001 SSEi
Yeah most of us have installed shift kits. There are lots of links out there about how to do it. Pretty cheap. Pretty easy. Works pretty good to make the transmission work as it should. In the forum under 2000-2005, look at common problems and scroll down to transmission. Probably the best way to get to the link. You're really getting this thing looking and working great! Good job! Keep us informed, you're dealing with all the issues we have been through.
