Remote Start question

Post by natedawg061987 »

Good afternoon all,

Over the winter I was gifted with a remote start system for my birthday/Christmas. :bwoohoo:

It functions just fine and hasn't had any problems.

I do have one question though. It'll start my car just fine, but it doesn't turn on my electronic climate control. So the engine will warm up just fine, but the inside of my car will still be cold.
Is there a way to change something in the vehicle or is the ECC strictly turned on when the key is in and in the on position?

Thanks for any help you can give!

Just leave the CC in Auto at your desired temp setting before you shut off the car.

I think he's saying it doesn't get powered up. Most remote starts still don't activate "key on" items, especially aftermarket remote starters.

And to answer the question, I don't think you're going to be able to change it. It's not like an old car where you can just switch some wires around, everything is controlled by modules, which have to see each other, etc. It's a big mess...
