Replacing button lights

Post by 05joenov »

Good evening everyone,

The driver's heated seat light went out on the dash...button still works it's just the light. Is this something I can fix or do I need to buy a whole new cluster for that part?

Yes and No;

Yes you can "technically" do it.

No, you can't just walk into Autozone/Advance/O'Reilly's/Napa/etc and buy the bulbs. It'd have to be something you buy online.

Another option is you send the button to Andrew (Harofreak) on this board. He may have complete working replacements already available or he can replace the bulbs in yours

OR you can just shop fleabay and a replacement switch and have it in a few days.

Thanks for the info: Digging into search I found this:

It is for the shifter light but also the OP asked about the same light. Probably I'll just order a new switch.

If you can solder it's easy. Just requires a trip to RadioShack. I did a crude mini write-up in that thread you posted above.
