I had replaced the fuel pump less than 5K miles ago with a Delphi pump, so it may not be the fuel pump.
Car seemed to be running alright for a few months but occasionally would idle a little rough.
1)What things will cause no power at KOEO to the fuel pump besides bad grounds, crank fuse or the fuel pump relay?
(There is fresh gas in the tank, swapped Fuse #1 10 amp crank circuit fuse and replaced the fuel pump relay--that was all I could do while stranded.)
Presently the car cranks but will not start due to no fuel.
(Fuel does not shoot out at Schrader valve on fuel rail.)
It does not build fuel pressure with the key in the on position, so it seems like a lack of power to the fuel pump.
2)Does the security system disable the ignition or the fuel system.
The security light has been on but there was no problem until today--even after replacing the battery a month ago it had started up.
3) Am I correct in believing that a bad CPS would still allow the fuel pump to operate for the 2 or 3 seconds when the key is turned to the ON position?
4)How does my car always know to break on holiday weekends?
Hooked up a jumper wire from the green fuel pump prime connector to the battery positive terminal, car started right up and I drove the car home. Still rather puzzled.
Could a bad ECM do this?
How about a faulty ignition switch?
Just looking for ideas as to where to look more closely
HELP! Cranks No Start No Fuel--Bad ECM? Ignition switch?

Re: HELP! Cranks No Start No Fuel--Bad ECM? Ignition switch?
I had asked my questions after having searched the forums unsuccessfully for the answers. (No results for "cranks no fuel", "cranking no fuel", "won't start no fuel". Searching by "no fuel" yields only "Search term used: no fuel ignored: no" )
Later on, however, I found this gem of diagnostic info in the Techinfo section http://www.pontiacbonnevilleclub.com/fo ... c4515.html
Must admit that I was amused by Step 1--which is for a car that cranks but won't start--"Set up: engine idling at operating temperature, oil pressure normal"
Little tricky to meet those criteria when the car is being diagnosed for a no start condition.
As mentioned before I was able to get the car to drive the few miles back home by using the green fuel pump prime connector by the battery.
Might help someone else who needs to get their car moving when the fuel pump primary circuit malfunctions.
Now to figure out where the problem lies.....

Try the fuel pump fuse and relay, passenger side fuse panel, close to the pcm.

Re: HELP! Cranks No Start No Fuel--Bad ECM? Ignition switch?
Thanks cjski, but those were the first things I had checked.
Both were good, but I replaced the relay just to be safe--which didn't change anything.
Car started immediately once I hooked up the jumper to the green connector.
Car started up today without green connector.
Ran the linked tests and everything checked out OK--the car even ran with the FP relay removed while running.
Seems like it's going to be an intermittent problem
Computer stored no codes, which makes me wonder if that is the source of the problem.

CHECK THIS POST http://www.pontiacbonnevilleclub.com/fo ... 46791.html IT SHOWS THE ELECTRICAL DIAGRAM FOR THE FUEL PUMP CIRCUT

Thanks for the replies.
It seems to be that the ECM has gone bad.
Once I installed another ECM, the problem was solved.
