climate control issue

ok i know this topic has been discussed many times before but i think my problem is a little different. the air only comes from defrost and floor, not the main vents. by the way i have electronic climate control. now i read it could be a vacuum issue but on my other bonneville the vacuum cylinder completely came off and i could hear the vents at least trying to change settings, but only came out from main after driving a while. that doesn't happen with this one there's no air at all coming from vents. i took the hose off the cylinder and heard air whooshing out so doubt that's the problem. also, i read that air mix actuator could be the culprit but it blows cold air when on 60 and hot on 90. someone mentioned that there's a vacuum hose coming out the intake manifold that could be cracked but i don't know which hose it is, if anyone can tell me and help me with this it will be greatly appreciated.


edit: forgot to add that the climate control does not flash as it has with other people who have had this problem

Sounds like your airmix is fine. The airmix actuator issue has nothing to do with where the air comes out. Vacuum, however, does. Do a search on "collapsed nipple" and you should find all kinds of information on that particular fault. On your HVAC Programmer (located behind the glove box) there is a vacuum manifold (connector) that can act up and pinch off the vacuum source that controls vent openings.

ok i checked the vacuum hoses you mentioned and couldn't find any cracks or leaks and there were no damaged nipples however i took off the hose for the vacuum reservoir again and there was no vacuum or air at all in it, and with the car running i could hear air being sucked in through the hose. so does this confirm that i need a new vacuum reservoir?

If you have vacuum going into the reservoir, but none coming out, yeah, I would think the reservoir is hosed. I don't know of a way to test it to be certain, though.
