2000 sle, rough idle - random misfire code

Post by machinistmatt »

So a few days ago car started running rough, took it to get it scanned. Cylinder 6 misfire. New plugs, ngk irridium, new wires, duralast, and new coil, also duralast. Ran good for about a day, then started misfiring again. Replaced other two coils, still misfiring. This time with random misfire code. What would be the next course of action?

Any new diagnostic codes? I'm guessing the error code was before the parts replacement. BTW, please avoid Duralast products with the possible exception of batteries. - BC

Did you use Delco plug wires ? These engine do not like aftermarket plug wires. Im fighting a mis fire issue with mine as well. Ive figure out its the MAF connector was bad and the front o2 sensor causing a rough idle on mine.
