Taillight Paint

Ok so my center taillight section lens is pulling away from the back housing so I'm getting dust in it from my gravel road and water from car washes. I've tried sealing it up and ended up breaking the lens on it. I glued that back on and I'm waiting on ordering a new one from Andrew with a bunch of other stuff.

SO, down to my question, I'm going to paint my lens black to hide the ugliness of it. Which route should I go for the best result in your opinions? Lens tint or a paint?

I would just paint it with some sort of plastic paint or even plasti-dip. May lean a bit more towards the plasti-dip because of its ease of cleaning up overspray. Plus it's only temporary.

When I did mine I didn't want to tint the whole lens. Typically you have to go pretty dark with tint to really hide the delamination and I really like the stripes so I wanted to retain that appearance. I found some 1/4" wide masking tape and taped off all those stripes and painted gloss black over them. And I did two light coats of tint and came out a little darker than I was aiming for but still achieved what I was looking for. And then wet sanded + clear coat & polish. It was a pain to mask that all off but it was worth it for me.
