Bonneville nerd moment...

Post by zuper8 »

We dropped the car off to get 4 tires/ alignment, and decided to spend a few hours walking around town enjoying the sights. At one point, I was walking down the street when I heard the unmistakable "WHOOOOP" of a very certain supercharger, I thought, I will be *dang* if that is not an SSEi, the sound is so familiar. I wheel around, and sure enough that was my car going down the road! The tech was taking it for a test drive. And I thought it was hilarious he decided to do a little boosting. It was a flat 30 mph road, absolutely no reason to go into boost lol! Just having fun!

Clearly, I really love my Bonneville.

Not to poop on your moment, but is the driver fender a different shade of tan?

Looks great though!

Yes it is so different!! It drives me crazy! But everyone says they don't notice in person until I point it out, so I haven't had it painted to match yet. One day...

Thanks Mike :)

Honestly I would have killed him. Reminds me when I took Stewie to the tire shop for a balance and rotation. The guy backed it out and did a burnout right in front of the store. I was livid.

I am a bit torn on this one.

If the man was grabbing a bit of whine on a test drive, no harm, no foul. I would prolly have the same viewpoint.

If someone does a burnout, I will kill them personally, especially with our paper mache differentials on the 4t60

Mainly, it's a "don't do something I wouldn't do" sort of thing, and make sure you treat it with dignity and respect.

While it's nice to sometimes hear your car from the outside, I'd be PISSED if someone I didn't know did that to my car!!! An occasional drive-by done by a trusted friend is one thing, someone just taking liberties in your car is a big problem to me!

It's just a 96 rusty DD Bonneville! I enjoyed that the car got some appreciation, my friends can't imagine why I like Bonnevilles and they think I'm insane when I say it's fun to drive. Was definitely not a burnout on my brand new tires :) just a little blip of the supercharger purely for the joy of it, I'll share the joy.

Hahaha, nice! I love hearing that whine from the outside. A little pull isn't something I would go nuts over.
