Headlight replacememnt question

Post by jddem »

I am about to pull trigger on new headlight assembly for 2001 SSEi

I found OEM for approx 350 for the pair and numerous Aftermarket for approx 200 a pair.

Questions:
Besides lack of "Bonneville" on LH light assembly is there ANY difference between OEM vs Aftermarket in terms of longevity and light distribution? (I read on some forums that AM give off a fraction of the light of OEM)

If AM is suggested. Which brand do you recommend. I don't plan on clearing the corners anytime soon. Someone said that DEPO lacks horizontal aiming (obviously I would want to stay away from that, right?)

thanks

yes
the pic in my signature is misleading.
I tried to restore them, but there are tons of scratches and at night they look cloudy when the headlights are on and compared to the new fog lights they look even crappier.

anyone with experience with the aftermarket ones?

Nope, other than the missing script, the output is the same. Go for the 200 dollar TYC or Depo ones.

I just purchased the TYC headlights from rock auto and they look very good. I have not installed them yet but soon will be.
