Re: water leaks
Why don't you tell us where those leaks were, as to help anyone else that comes to this forum.

Those who would benefit from the information aren't the ones who already know where coolant leaks often occur.monte0 wrote:Cause their was no interest
Since it was Mother's Day weekend, most people were probably busy.
My only leaking coolant experience has been when the plastic coolant elbow cracked and spewed out antifreeze---very fortunately for me, it happened right as I pulled up to my house.
The other coolant issue wasn't a leak; it was when the pulley separated from the shaft. Very fortunately, this was 1 block from my home.
The waterpump looked to be the original.
Re: water leaks
i am not sure whether we are referring to water leaks or coolant leaks or both but i had a rare water leak resulting in wet carpet in rear drivers side passenger floor.. spent hours and days thinking it had to be a problem in the rear door seal. this is sort of a believe it or not but started sealing up any other suspect i could imagine. ok, i caulked the area around the fresh air intake which is part of the cowling structure. it is difficult to see as there is a sheet of metal above the fresh air intake. but with difficulty i managed to spread caulk around entire intake. surprise, no more water in rear passenger floor.
i had previously looked under the front floor carpet and did not see water marks or trails that led to back seat floor. possibly overlooked what should have been obvious.
I did not post this info earlier as my vehicle is 96 SE and cowl fresh air intake is a rare source of leaks as far as I know.

This is a water leak not coolant.

I was referring to water. I've got one above the gas pedal and one I did find. It was coming though the window molding on the side and then running down the inner door seal that is attached to the a-piller pinch weld. From their it's going down the inner part of the seal and then leaking into the car a lot

Re: water leaks
Yes, I read water but the brain went to coolant.
Anyway, thanks for posting the info on water leaks.
It's always good to know what troubles have been uncovered, since it may just be a matter of time before someone else has the same problems.

Re: water leaks
Anyone know how to get to the front sunroof drains without pulling the headliner down?
