I just picked up a 2001 SSEi Bonneville. I can open my gas flap by pulling it open, but am wondering if it is supposed to be locking. Does it have a locking gas flap? There is a cable in the trunk to release it manually, but I dont see anything electric or cable in the interior for Gas Release.
Thanks for any feedback

Re: Locking Gas Flap
Hi, on my 2000 SSEi, the gas door opens when I unlock the car with remote or door switch-- when car is locked, the gas door is locked.

Re: Locking Gas Flap
Thanks...I just looked at it and that is sure enough how it works! I have never seen that type of set up before!

Re: Locking Gas Flap
It locks and unlocks electronically with the driver door. Might need some lube.

Re: Locking Gas Flap
The locking cap on my SSEi's never worked right. I even got a box of the solenoids from harofreak00, and one of them worked for about a day. Eventually, I gutted one and threw my spare valet key in there as a backup in case I ever locked myself out of the car again (did it once, never again). If I ever see that car again, I intend to see if the key is still there, lol.
