ELM327 WIFI Software

What is the best software to use for thes cars with a ELM327 WIFI plug in? I have a laptop with Windows 8, but it is not bluetooth ready. I have an Iphone, but I understand that they don't really "play well" with these things.
I'm looking for software that will allow me to monitor my car and check codes when needed that doesn't cost a lot of money. There are thousands of sites out there with free software, but I wanted to call on the experience of you guys on this site who are already using these things and have had good/bad experiences with software.

Your in a tough spot, as ELM327 Bluetooth paired with Windows or Android are the preferred and more flexible pairings.

A Bluetooth ELM327 and a USB Bluetooth adapter are both yours for under $30 delivered, and opens significant diagnostic doors.

Do you have access to an Android device?

For Android, Torque Pro and Car Gauge Pro are superb, and the latter gives BCM/ABS and extended OEM code reading and clearing.
For Windows there's various freeware OBD2 software, OBDwiz is great, but it's not free. It does come with OBDLink devices though.

Sadly, us iPhone users are screwed in this category. Ever considered picking up a used Aeroforce? Could probably get one for ~$150.

Thanks guys. I should have asked this question before I ordered this thing on AMAZON! I assumed it was more of a plug-n-play deal. The thing was cheap and I recieved it today. Bought a laptop about 6 months and was told it had bluetooth (sales guy at Best Buy!). I never used the bluetooth until I tried to use it to connect with a projector in front of students I was teaching a class to. Yeah, they were impressed when a couple of them tried to help me and then informed me that my computer didn't even have bluetooth capability!! That really impressed the students that paid to take the class!!
Anyway, I do have an old crappy android phone, but I already have the WIFI version of the ELM327 plug in, so I'll probably just get some software for my computer.

Any recommendation would be appreciated.

There is HPT and DHP, both programs scan and have tuning capability via any Windows laptop. You can also run them on a Mac if you have a Dualboot or Virtualbox hard drive partition with Windows on it. But those two programs might be a little pricey.

Bluetooth ones will NOT work with iPhone but the wifi ones should. I had one but I sold it as I have a ScangaugeII.

There isn't any WiFi ELM327 OBD2 or specialty GM Windows or Mac OS software.
There's no FORScan like software for GM vehicles unfortunately.
You've really gotta jump to Bluetooth and Windows or Bluetooth and Android to do anything.

Now you've got a Bluetooth Android device? Good.
Get a Bluetooth ELM327, Torque Pro and Car Gauge Pro.
For the $, that's the closest your gonna get to a Tech 2.

Which one and where did you get it from? 2002 Bonny, bought a total of 4 of them from China, 2 different vendors, same garbage. All hooks up but the ECU isn't communicating to torque. I've read there's so many counterfeit one's it's not funny. I use Aliexpress because it's 100% covered. I'm tired of having to take it to the shop to reset the gas cap/neck. Sand her down, Vaseline her up, gets you a couple months at a crack! I've got a moto G 1st gen if it matters.

I've had mine for a while and last night I was having this same issue. I couldn't get the *dang* thing to talk to ECU. I removed all bluetooth devices from my phone memory, made a new profile in torque, restarted my phone, and unhook the OBD2 dongle and it finally worked. It was very frustrating but it finally could connect to ECU.
This has happened a few times in the past but it was when I was looking at a friends car or something so I just blew it off as a problem with their car.
Very frustrating though!

Went with the BAFX http://www.bafxpro.com/obdreader/ so far no problems.
